A client said to me the other day, “Run a marathon? I would never be able to do that!” Have you ever missed out on something you wanted to do or decided to avoid an experience based on the belief that you were not capable? Or maybe out of fear that you might suffer physical pain in doing so?
While it’s certainly true that a lot of physical challenges require a great deal of training and focus, our human bodies and minds are capable of great things. Often, limiting beliefs and habits of fear or avoidance, along with a lack of understanding of our physical bodies, prevent us from reaching into the unknown. In this 5 day Freedom From Pain Retreat, you’ll escape your daily routine and dive into physical practices to help you feel, understand and communicate about your body in a new way.
Each day will include 2 movement experiences to challenge your body and mind while creating more efficient movement patterns and strategies. All movement sessions will utilize the principles and exercises of Foundation Training. We’ll integrate chains of muscles throughout your body to optimally support and move you through life. This work is useful for and accessible by all…whether you’re managing periodic or chronic pain or you're an accomplished athlete.
You can expect easy to follow anatomy lessons explaining the how and why behind what we’re feeling, along with meditations & journaling to allow the new input to assimilate on a higher level. We’ll bring together the physical, mental and emotional to inspire true change.
Mike brings his expertise as a Doctor of Chiropractic, Yoga & Foundation Training instructor while Erin will share her background in Fitness, Pilates and Foundation Training. With Mike’s passion for helping men become more compassionate and vulnerable and Erin’s dedication to unearthing the undiscussed topics in women’s health, we will hold space for all.
